Position Title Analyst I – Cost Primary Responsibilities: Under direct supervision, responsible for conducting or assisting in the documentation of simple to moderate financial analysis projects. Reviews, for accuracy, routine financial and business-related reports/analyses in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, and investments. Assists in reviewing routine forecasts in manufacturing, sales, finance, general business conditions and other related areas as instructed. Utilizing PC and/or mainframe-based systems and software, compiles and prepares reports, graphs and charts of data developed. May assist in the month end closing process. Analyze, reconcile, report, and prepare journal entries. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned. Job Requirements: Four-year college degree in accounting, finance, or related degree and meaningful accounting coursework. Relevant internship or other work experience, preferred. Entry level position. Applies knowledge; has basic knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures in a function. Accountable for technical contribution to a project team or sub-team. Works with others to achieve team goals within scope of basic knowledge and skills within own function. Basic knowledge of accounting and financial theory, and of financial analysis techniques. Use existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems; applies limited judgement and discretion. Responds to standard requests from internal and/or external customers. Works within guidelines and direction provided by others to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions. Ability to work under frequently changing priorities. Analytical skills. Math skills.
