About The Position

We are seeking a Business Analytics Analyst (Analyst I through Senior Staff) to support strategic and operational initiatives across our power generation fleet. This role sits at the intersection of data, technology, and business operations, helping translate complex data into actionable insights that improve reliability, financial performance, and decision-making. This position will play a key role in developing data-driven solutions and web-based tools, enabling more efficient workflows, enhanced visibility, and integration across systems.

Requirements

  • Analyst I Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Data Analytics, or related field 0–2 years of relevant experience Basic experience with Excel and data analysis
  • Analyst II / Senior Analyst 2–6+ years of experience in analytics, engineering, or related field Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) Exposure to SQL, Python, or similar tools
  • Senior Staff Analyst 7+ years of experience Proven ability to lead analytics initiatives and influence decision-making Experience developing tools, models, or applications that drive business value
  • Strong communication skills – ability to clearly present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Business acumen – understands how analytics drives operational and financial outcomes
  • Problem-solving mindset – able to break down complex problems into structured solutions
  • Process-oriented thinking – skilled at mapping workflows and identifying improvement opportunities
  • Technical curiosity – interest in building tools, automating processes, and leveraging new technologies
  • Collaboration – works effectively across teams and functions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Python for data analysis, automation, or web application development
  • Familiarity with web frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django, or similar)
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets across multiple systems
  • Knowledge of power generation, utilities, or industrial operations
  • Experience integrating data from systems such as EAM (Maximo), historians (PI), or financial systems

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Insights Analyze operational, financial, and maintenance data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Translate data into clear, actionable insights for plant leadership and executive stakeholders
  • Support key initiatives such as reliability improvement, outage planning, and cost optimization
  • Application & Tool Development Develop and support web-based applications and analytics tools to streamline business processes
  • Utilize technologies such as Python, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to build scalable solutions
  • Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to integrate data sources and enhance system capabilities
  • Business Process Mapping & Optimization Work with stakeholders to map current-state processes, identify inefficiencies, and design improved workflows
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements and analytical solutions
  • Support standardization efforts across the fleet to enable “one fleet” operations
  • Stakeholder Engagement Partner directly with lead team members and plant leadership
  • Communicate complex analytical findings in a clear, concise, and impactful way
  • Facilitate discussions to align data insights with business decisions
