About The Position

The Analyst, Health Care is responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex healthcare data, including value-based care metrics, claims, and clinical (EHR/EMR) data, to support data-driven decision-making, improve patient outcomes, and drive program enhancements. Working closely with internal teams and cross-functional partners, this role transforms raw data into actionable insights by building analytic datasets, developing dashboards, and ensuring high data quality across healthcare domains. The position supports value-based care initiatives by delivering timely analysis and reporting that inform operational and strategic decisions. The Analyst collaborates with clinical, operational, and cross-functional partners to ensure data insights align with organizational needs and are translated into practical applications. Success in this role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while clearly communicating complex information to diverse audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, health informatics, public health, statistics, or a related field required.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in healthcare data analysis or a similar role required.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., R, Python, or SQL).
  • Hands-on experience querying and building analytic datasets and working with data visualization platforms.
  • Experience building dashboards with industry-standard tools.
  • Experience supporting data ingestion workflows (e.g., SFTP and cloud object storage).
  • Strong ability to analyze complex datasets, generate actionable insights, and clearly document findings.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm to serve as a customer-focused liaison between clinical, operational, and analytical teams with the ability to ensure data insights align with organizational needs.
  • A keen interest in addressing complex healthcare challenges with both immediate and long-term impact.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms.
  • High level of professional integrity and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in health informatics, public health, data science, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting or research environment with a focus on value-based care, workforce analytics, or operational improvement preferred.
  • Familiarity with value-based care metrics, claims data, and clinical data from electronic medical records is highly desirable; knowledge of common healthcare code sets (ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, NDC, LOINC) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience managing data quality in the healthcare domain, including profiling, validation, reconciliation, and issue remediation for claims and clinical data.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis and Reporting Develop timely, evidence-based analytical reports, dashboards, and visualizations (including charts, graphs, and maps) that advance HWHI’s mission.
  • Prepare detailed data summaries, briefing memos, and visual presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain interactive dashboards using industry-standard tools to support operational and strategic reporting needs.
  • Develop and deploy dashboards to enable self-service insights for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and analyze complex healthcare datasets, including claims and clinical (EHR/EMR) data and value-based care metrics, to identify trends and generate actionable insights.
  • Conduct statistical analyses to assess performance, efficiency, and clinical outcomes, supporting strategic decisions and program enhancements.
  • Data Monitoring and Quality Continuously monitor healthcare data trends to ensure quality and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and organized records of key data metrics and findings.
  • Define, implement, and monitor data quality checks and scorecards (e.g., completeness, accuracy, timeliness, conformance, and duplication) for claims and clinical datasets; investigate anomalies and coordinate remediation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration Collaborate with internal teams, state agencies, and healthcare organizations to gather and organize data feedback from end users.
  • Present data-driven insights in a clear, compelling manner to guide operational and strategic improvements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate data insights into comprehensive solutions for patient care and operational improvements.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by supporting analysis of project progress and outcomes.
  • Technical and Project Support Manage and enhance analytical tools and data resources that support the organization’s data-driven decision-making.
  • Partner with internal and external parties to support secure data transfers, data ingestion, and table/view development, including basic table design and documentation.
  • Work with various technologies to stage, organize, and validate inbound data files that feed data pipelines and analytics.
  • Advise leadership on data trends, risks, and opportunities through clear and concise communication of findings.
  • Uphold high standards of confidentiality and ensure compliance with relevant state and federal regulations, best practices, and data security protocols in all analytical work.
  • Support special projects and perform additional analyses as needed to address emerging healthcare challenges.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support evolving organizational needs.
