About The Position

The Analyst, Health Care Data is responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex health care data—including Value-Based Care metrics, claims and clinical (EHR/EMR) data—to support data-driven decision-making, improve patient outcomes, and drive program enhancements. Working closely with the Director of Clinical Informatics and Digital Strategy and partnering with Data Engineering, this role transforms raw data into actionable insights by building analytic datasets in Snowflake, developing dashboards and data applications using Snowflake (e.g., Snowsight) and Streamlit, and ensuring high data quality across health care domains.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, health informatics, public health, statistics, or related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in health care data analysis or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as R, Python, or SQL.
  • Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience querying and building analytic datasets in Snowflake (tables, views, and performance-aware SQL).
  • Experience building dashboards in Snowflake (e.g., Snowsight) and developing Streamlit dashboards/data applications; experience deploying Streamlit in Snowflake is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience managing data quality in the health care domain, including profiling, validation, reconciliation, and issue remediation for claims and clinical data.
  • Experience supporting data ingestion workflows, including SFTP, and working with cloud object storage such as Azure Blob Storage.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets, generate actionable insights, and clearly document findings.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis, validation, and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences and present data-driven insights clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver under tight deadlines.
  • A keen interest in addressing complex health care challenges with both immediate and long-term impact.
  • High level of professional integrity and the ability to handle sensitive issues and situations with utmost discretion.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and innovative environment where change is constant.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a health care setting or research environment with a focus on Value-Based Care, workforce analytics, and/or operational improvement preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Value-Based Care metrics, claims data, and clinical data from electronic medical records is highly desirable; knowledge of common health care code sets (ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, NDC, LOINC) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop timely, evidence-based analytical reports, dashboards, and visualizations (including charts, graphs, and maps) that advance HWHI’s mission.
  • Prepare detailed data summaries, briefing memos, and visual presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain interactive dashboards using the Snowflake data warehouse (e.g., Snowsight) to support operational and strategic reporting needs.
  • Develop and deploy Streamlit dashboards and lightweight data applications to enable self-service insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze complex health care datasets, including claims and clinical (EHR/EMR) data and Value-Based Care metrics, to identify trends and generate actionable insights.
  • Conduct statistical analyses to assess performance, efficiency, and clinical outcomes, supporting strategic decisions and program enhancements.
  • Continuously monitor health care data trends to ensure quality and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and organized records of key data metrics and findings.
  • Define, implement, and monitor data quality checks and scorecards (e.g., completeness, accuracy, timeliness, conformance, and duplication) for claims and clinical datasets; investigate anomalies and coordinate remediation.
  • Perform source-to-target reconciliations between upstream systems, Azure Blob storage, and Snowflake tables to validate data integrity.
  • Manage and enhance analytical tools and data resources that support the organization’s data-driven decision-making.
  • Partner with Data Engineering to support secure file transfers (SFTP), data ingestion, and table/view development in Snowflake, including basic table design and documentation.
  • Work with Azure Blob Storage to stage, organize, and validate inbound data files that feed Snowflake pipelines and analytics.
  • Work closely with cross-department teams to integrate data insights into comprehensive solutions for patient care and operational improvements.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by reporting on project progress and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, state agencies, and health care organizations to gather and organize data feedback from end users.
  • Present data-driven insights in a clear, compelling manner to guide operational and strategic improvements.
  • Advise leadership on data trends, risks, and opportunities through clear and concise communication of findings.
  • Uphold high standards of confidentiality and ensure compliance with relevant state and federal regulations, best practices, and data security protocols in all analytical work.
  • Support special projects and perform additional analyses as needed to address emerging health care challenges.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support evolving organizational needs.
