About The Position

The Debt Management Analyst position at Brookfield Real Estate Group involves tracking and managing debt instruments across the real estate portfolio. The role focuses on ensuring the accuracy of the debt management system, preparing financial analyses, and supporting subsidiary teams with debt-related queries. The analyst will also be responsible for analyzing the impact of guarantees on liquidity, preparing presentations for management, and assisting in the enhancement of debt management systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field.
  • 1-3 years of work experience in a relevant field.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and a desire for self-learning.
  • Positive, approachable, and can-do attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with hedging instruments and strategies is welcome.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience with Bloomberg Terminal, Quantum, OneStream, Chatham, or data automation is a plus.
  • CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Track debt instruments across the entire real estate group.
  • Ensure the debt management system includes the most current and complete information.
  • Prepare files and tables with debt details at multiple levels of consolidation.
  • Assist with managing subsidiary teams regarding quarterly submissions and reconciliations.
  • Run reports and prepare analyses to assess the effectiveness of hedge positions related to interest rate exposure.
  • Collect and review covenant calculations and sensitivity analyses from subsidiaries.
  • Monitor information about new and existing guarantees at various levels.
  • Analyze potential liquidity impacts from guarantees on the group.
  • Prepare and analyze consolidated covenant calculations.
  • Prepare debt analyses and related presentations for management.
  • Consolidate and prepare debt-related financial statement disclosures.
  • Assist in expanding the functionality of debt management systems.
  • Conduct financial statement analysis, including variance and currency analysis.
  • Identify unusual variances and summarize explanations clearly.
  • Prepare files and tables for ad hoc analyses.
  • Run reports to support hedging activities related to foreign currency equity exposure.
  • Prepare internal calculations of credit ratings models.
