The Analyst, Formulations & Technical Support provides direct support to external and internal customers in the selection of dsm-firmenich products, related application needs, and Premix Formulation Development. Formulation Specialists are aligned with Sales to provide consistent support and develop deeper relationships with our customers. This role requires a solid technical understanding of diverse product lines, various industrial processes, and ability to both formulate and provide many types of technical service functions.

  • Provides technical support/expertise for developed premixes to customers and Account Managers. This includes advising on production selection, overages, application troubleshooting, and Premix Formulation Development.
  • Communicate completed premix formulations to sales department to allow for generation of costing on finished premixes.
  • Assist Marketing with Development of Concepts involving premixes to be presented to external customers and ensure the concepts are within dsm-ifrmenich's capabilities.
  • Ensure all relevant information is documented accurately, completely and in a clear and concise manner in the formulation and CRM systems.
  • Work with internal and external auditors, when necessary.
  • Works with the Application Labs to troubleshoot customer premix problems and identify new applications.
  • Evaluate application specific performance studies of new ingredients.
  • Create/Develop/Prepare SOPs for current and new processes for the team.
  • A.S. degree (Bachelor's degree preferred) in a scientific discipline, preferably in food science, chemistry, pharmacy or chemical engineering, with a minimum of 3+ years of industry experience in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of food & beverage and dietary supplement industry market segments including their manufacturing processes and requirements.
  • Knowledge of nutritional ingredients including vitamins, carotenoids, omega-3's (functions, commercially available forms and regulations)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Statistical/trend analysis tools and other computer skills.
  • Ability to perform calculations related to product development and complaints.
