The position involves creating reports and presentations that translate data into meaningful information to facilitate tactical and strategic decision-making. The role requires the compilation, analysis, and interpretation of financial data, utilizing technical skills to resolve business issues and develop business applications to meet customer needs and goals.

  • Construct and maintain financial and operational analysis models to aid in data analysis.
  • Analyze causes of variance using accounting entries.
  • Prepare communications including reports for upper-level presentations.
  • Aggregate and organize financial data from multiple platforms and suggest procedural changes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Document work processes, including data sources and definitions.
  • Ensure data accuracy.
  • Interact and coordinate with other departments to address business issues and meet organizational objectives.
  • Support the development of analysis of company financial performance, including revenue and expenses.
  • Interpret data and identify trends to help leadership understand drivers of results and develop strategy.
  • 0-2 years of corporate finance, analysis, or accounting experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, or equivalent.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Insurance experience preferred (Life & Health a plus).
  • Knowledge of insurance concepts, products, and distribution preferred but not required.
  • Basic skills in Workday, Adaptive, and Tableau preferred but not required.
  • Hybrid work schedule with weekly reporting to the Chicago office.
