AES Clean Energy (CE) is seeking an Analyst – Data Services to support the ongoing accuracy, integrity, and reporting of operational data across AES CE’s renewable energy portfolio. This individual will play a key role in ensuring high-quality data is available for performance monitoring, regulatory compliance, and commercial reporting. The position partners closely with Control Center personnel and the O&M Engineering team to maintain reliable datasets and deliver critical insights for solar, wind, and battery energy storage system (BESS) assets. A day in the life of an AES CE Analyst – Data Services will include, but is not limited to: Ensuring data accuracy and availability across monitoring, ticketing, and reporting systems Editing, tracking, and validating operational and production data to support KPI reporting across solar, wind, and BESS assets Delivering commercial, regulatory, and operational reports to internal and external stakeholders Supporting compliance reporting requirements (EQR, FERC, EIA) for solar, wind, and energy storage assets Collaborating with Control Center personnel and the O&M Engineering team to resolve data discrepancies and improve processes The Analyst – Data Services supports a broader Operations organization and serves as a key contributor to maintaining data quality standards across AES CE’s portfolio. This role requires experience working with operational data systems, reporting tools, and cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and process-oriented thinking are critical for success.

Requirements

  • Professional experience in data reporting and compliance
  • Expertise in data editing and processing, with a keen eye for seeing and developing processes to detect bad data
  • Professional experience with data analysis of renewable assets (wind, solar, battery)
  • Experience with monitoring (HMI), ticketing (CMMS), and analysis (Excel/Power BI) tools and systems.
  • Familiarity with DAS and SCADA systems preferred
  • Experience creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Experience & familiarity with utilities and ISO requirements
  • Strong analytics thinking skills and attention-to-detail
  • Ability to build relationships and establish trust across teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • High degree of commitment to a quality safety culture and an incident-free work environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience automating reporting processes or improving data workflows
  • Experience with advanced analytics or scripting tools (Python, SQL, or R)
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization platforms
  • Experience supporting large-scale solar, wind, and BESS portfolios

Responsibilities

  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and availability across monitoring, ticketing, and analytics systems
  • Edit, track, and validate fault and production data to support accurate KPI tracking and performance analysis across solar, wind, and BESS assets
  • Compile and distribute commercial reports, invoices, and operational summaries to customers and stakeholders
  • Prepare monthly operating reports for internal teams including treasury and site operations
  • Develop and deliver regulatory reporting (EQR, FERC, EIA) for solar, wind, and BESS assets
  • Maintain and improve data validation and quality control processes to identify and correct discrepancies
  • Support compliance with regulatory and operational reporting requirements
  • Work closely with Control Center personnel to ensure accurate and timely data flow from operational systems
  • Partner with the O&M Engineering team to resolve data issues, support performance analysis, and improve reporting processes
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on reporting requirements
  • Support documentation and standardization of processes, including development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, enhance reporting efficiency, and automate operational processes
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Demonstrate accountability, ownership, and a commitment to high performance
  • Continue developing technical and industry knowledge related to solar, wind, and BESS assets and data systems
