About The Position

Farm Credit of Southern Colorado (FCSC) is seeking a Loan Officer to join our team. The Loan Officer will be responsible for achieving growth of loan portfolio in assigned territory through professional marketing and visibility, while creating and maintaining existing lending relationships. This position is full time, working approximately 40 hours a week, and is benefits eligible. Occasional travel may be required to sufficiently support other locations within territory. The Loan Officer processes, analyzes, and services a moderate to high volume of mortgage and commercial loans of various sizes. Works collaboratively with functional teams within the organization. Requirements

  • Driver's License
  • Knowledge of agricultural operations
  • Knowledge of agricultural markets
  • Knowledge of financial statements and mathematical concepts
  • Knowledge of financial structuring and loan products
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and methods
  • Knowledge of credit administration and portfolio management procedures
  • Knowledge of Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook sufficient to create, update and save basic documents
  • Skill in oral and written communication, sufficient to exchange information effectively with peers, supervisor and borrowers
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining productive relationships within and outside the organization, borrowers and vendors
  • Skill in gathering, compiling and organizing information
  • Skill in listening closely to understand the speaker's intent
  • Skill in listening and conveying awareness of a borrower's problem or issue to find resolution
  • Skill in interacting and working effectively with others
  • Skill in focusing and concentrating on details
  • Skill in applying processes and procedures to factual data to make a logical decision
  • Skill in reasoning persuasively to sell or promote financial services and products

Responsibilities

  • Achieve growth of loan portfolio in assigned territory through professional marketing and visibility.
  • Create and maintain existing lending relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to create new relationships by leveraging Agricultural producer networks and referrals.
  • Communicate the value of Association products and of doing business with Farm Credit.
  • Process, analyze, and service a moderate to high volume of mortgage and commercial loans.
