POSITION: Investment Banking Credit – Analyst (US Utilities) Analysts in our Corporate and Leveraged Finance groups are involved with the structuring, execution and monitoring of debt transactions from inception through closing. Candidates with utility industry experience will gain direct exposure to regulated and some non-regulated electric, gas and water utilities located in the US, developing a deep understanding of cash flow models and regulatory frameworks. Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree preferably in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Mathematics/Economics with a combination of strong financial/analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Successful candidates must have the capacity to become adept at financial modeling and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior exposure to utilities, power, energy, infrastructure is strongly preferred.
  • Other undergraduate majors will be considered if the candidate demonstrates the necessary skill set.

Responsibilities

  • Spread and monitor clients’ historical financial performance of utility clients
  • Gather and analyze trends in qualitative and quantitative data, including regulatory environments, rate cases, and industry dynamics
  • Analyze deal structures, covenants, and financing terms
  • Prepare and present diligence findings to senior bankers and credit committees
  • Compile data through due diligence and prepare comprehensive reviews that analyze transactions and client credit risks
  • Create detailed models to project clients’ future cash flows and debt ratios
  • Assist with deal negotiations and documentation review
  • Assist with ad hoc projects
