About The Position

The Grainger Indirect Procurement team manages over $1 billion of indirect spend for business team members across Grainger North America. As Category Management Analyst, you will support the implementation of the sourcing strategy. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Category Management, you will provide services and results through transactional planning and contracting, project support, and building and executing cost savings/value pipeline initiatives. This is a Hybrid position requiring 50% of time onsite at either the Merchandise Mart Chicago, IL office or Lake Forest, IL Headquarters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of Category Management, financial management, contract negotiations, or sourcing experience
  • Experience supporting and leading continuous improvement projects

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and route for execution NDA, Task Orders, Statements of Work, and contract amendments
  • Follow procurement and risk management processes to complete new purchases and renewals that are not strategically sourced
  • Support the strategic sourcing process in your assigned categories including conducting spend analysis, researching the industry, documenting requirements, facilitating the e-Sourcing process for RFI/RFP/RFX, analyzing negotiations, and executing contracts.
  • Use research and market intelligence tools to monitor supplier industry trends and to validate and benchmark costs and competitive pricing
  • Support the Category Review process through market research and category analysis which includes spend, supply base, and financial trends
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities in procurement processes to increase efficiency and results across the department
