About The Position

Forbes is seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team. This entry-level role is designed for professionals with 1-3 years of experience who are ready to take full ownership of analytical projects, drive strategic insights, and deliver consistently accurate work products. The successful candidate will build a foundation in technical data analysis, structured problem-solving, and proactive stakeholder partnership.

Requirements

  • Structured Thinking: Ability to clearly articulate and logically structure thought processes, analysis plans, and conclusions.
  • Accountability & Reliability: Demonstrated ability to manage assignments, meet agreed-upon deadlines, and deliver complete and accurate work consistently.
  • Business Acumen: Capacity to quickly understand the core business problem and connect analytical findings directly to business strategy and value.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a dynamic team environment and closely collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across different departments.
  • Proficient in SQL (required for data extraction and manipulation).
  • Proficient in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
  • Strong foundational skills in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited university.
  • 1-3 years of professional or internship experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related technical field.

Responsibilities

  • Independently own and drive specific components of larger projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines agreed upon with stakeholders.
  • Manage assigned work end-to-end, demonstrating a solid understanding of project goals and business needs and asking clarifying questions when needed.
  • Proactively manage stakeholder expectations, communicating key updates and anticipating potential delays.
  • Utilize SQL and data visualization tools to conduct data analysis and translate findings into clear, actionable business insights.
  • Apply rigorous and documented data validation techniques to ensure work is accurate and error-free before submission.
  • Clearly articulate the analysis approach and methodology, justifying decisions with relevant business context (the "why") rather than only focusing on technical implementation.
  • Articulate clear and concise takeaways in verbal and written communication.
  • Simplify complex technical concepts and data narratives for non-technical stakeholders, fostering organizational clarity and alignment.
  • Provide proactive partnership by identifying opportunities to contribute data expertise or analysis, even when not explicitly assigned.
