About The Position

Mizuho's Banking Division provides corporate and investment banking coverage, sponsor coverage, advisory and solutions and loan capital markets/syndicate to Mizuho's client base of leading international corporations, financial institutions and public sector entities in the US and Canada. Banking supports client business activities throughout the region with an extensive range of capital markets and lending capabilities and an integrated team of coverage, advisory and product bankers responsible for client relationship management and strategic transaction development to execute banking and securities mandates and originate idea generation for potential acquisitions, divestitures and investment opportunities. Mizuho Securities is looking for an experienced Analyst or entry level associate to join the Structured Credit Group ("SCG") which focuses on originating, structuring and distributing non-traditional structured debt and equity solutions for corporate clients globally. The team is a market leader and provides solutions through a broad range of asset classes including structured and project bonds in Latin America, transportation ABS (Aviation, Intermodal Shipping), Digital Infrastructure (data centers, fiber), Whole Business to mention a few. The candidate will join a market leading team of seasoned professionals with a robust pipeline and will be expected to support the team with presentation preparation, modeling / analytics, and transaction execution. SCG has built a leading position across the esoteric ABS asset class universe and is looking to complement their team with a candidate who will step into a role as a core deal team member. The candidate should be a strong, self-motivated learner, willing to step up and take on new responsibilities. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus to support initiatives in Latin America.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Detail oriented and ability to problem solve on his/her feet
  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience in project finance / ABS
  • Strong analytical skills and presentation preparation (fluent in advanced excel and power point)
  • Self-starter and committed to the business

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Spanish and / or Portuguese is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of the ABS new issue origination and execution process
  • Modeling complex ABS transactions
  • Prepare pitch books / marketing materials for live mandates
  • Interactions with client, rating agencies, lawyers and investors
  • Review and comment on transaction documentation
  • Assist in the day-to-day management responsibilities of the team
