About The Position
Altus Group is seeking a Real Estate Data Science Analyst to join our valuation team in New York. This role is pivotal in supporting the inspection, cleansing, transformation, and modeling of data to extract valuable insights that inform decision-making processes. The analyst will engage in a comprehensive data lifecycle, which includes data collection, processing, exploratory analysis, and the application of modeling techniques and algorithms to produce actionable outputs. The position requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to work with complex datasets to derive meaningful conclusions that enhance our valuation and data platforms. The analyst will be responsible for maintaining existing analysis templates and leading initiatives aimed at improving efficiency within the team. This includes employing quantitative analysis techniques to identify anomalies in raw data, re-performing critical calculations, and ensuring that relationships between data points are logically consistent. A significant aspect of the role involves advanced Excel proficiency, particularly in VBA programming, data simulation, and the use of advanced formulas such as Macros, Power Query, and Pivot Tables. The ability to visualize data effectively is also crucial, as the analyst will present quantitative data in various formats, including tables, charts, graphs, and geospatial maps, often compiling these into comprehensive dashboards. In addition to technical skills, the role requires strong communication abilities, as the analyst will need to proactively update stakeholders on project statuses and seek assistance when necessary. The position also involves participation in extensive training programs, including On-Boarding Training and ARGUS Certification, to ensure that the analyst is well-equipped to contribute to the team’s success.
