About The Position

We are currently looking for an Analyst 1, Parts Planning to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI. Establishes service parts data in the FAST 2000 parts catalog authoring system for assigned commodities and current models produced in the NNA region. Coordinates numerous points of view from engineering, parts supply, service purchasing, warehousing, distribution, marketing, vendors, and pricing to properly define, code and combine individual parts for sale. Reconciles differing opinions to determine if parts should be sold as an assembly or individual components. Continually updates and resolves the ongoing accuracy of the parts catalog systems and ensures accuracy of NNA Service Parts Master File (PMF) part of the Nissan Motor Parts System (NMPS). Investigates and resolves catalog inquiries from Dealer Parts Information Center (DPIC) and Export customers. Researches and prepares material to facilitate stock validation by PDCs. Consults Analyst 2 or Senior Planner as necessary for complex issues. Provides basic training and other support as necessary. A Day in the Life: Reviews new model service parts and ongoing engineering running changes for establishment in the catalog compilation system. Consults Nissan standards, design engineer, technical publications, field quality, manufacturing and other groups to decide optimal service level. Interprets CAD data, references photos, Nissan standards and knowledge of dealer operations to optimize illustration layout to develop catalog parts illustration markups which facilitates parts identification by dealers. Investigates and resolves customer technical inquiries received from DPIC, parts distribution centers, Nissan affiliates, export countries and other parts customers. Problems include missing or incorrect catalog data, incorrect stock, interpretation of data, etc. Investigates by confirming engineering data, CAD data, technical application and drawings, photographs etc. Provides quick, clear and concise actionable resolution to requestor. Maintains NNA NMPS as necessary for parts registration. Applies correct coding for parts restriction, supersessions and service files. Determines part supersessions and service files by interpreting engineering data and conducting additional research as needed. Considers and balances Nissan business impact and customer impact when determining part supersessions. Reviews supersession information and parts complexity reduction proposals for technical feasibility, customer satisfaction and cost-benefit. Consults management in decision making for complex proposals. Provides support for assigned commodity to internal and external customers. Act as backup to other assigned commodities in case of absence or overflow. As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.

Requirements

  • Two years of related experience at a professional level working in sales, marketing or service of automotive parts.
  • A related degree from a four-year college.
  • Knowledge of a national supply and distribution process plus extensive nomenclature and functional knowledge of automotive service parts.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the US automotive aftersales market from a business and customer perspective.
