About The Position

You will join one of our ASIC design teams in Santa Clara for a 3-month project in the area of high-speed/high-resolution data converter circuit design aimed at future Keysight products. You will get experience with the tools, skills, insights and tradeoffs necessary for successful integrated circuit design. Keysight fosters a collaborative engineering environment which emphasizes teamwork, mentoring, enthusiasm, and excellence in design. Within several world-wide teams Keysight's Advanced Technology Labs Mixed-Signal ASIC Design Section develops (and often publishes) the world’s-fastest data converters (ADC: analog-to-digital converters, DAC: digital-to-analog converters) and other mixed-signal integrated circuits, as well as analog signal conditioning circuits using a variety of state-of-the art semiconductor technologies. Our chips provide the speed and accuracy performance that enable many of Keysight’s world-leading electronic test and measurement products.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a MS or PhD EE program
  • Strong skills in transistor-level design of mixed-signal CMOS and/or BiCMOS circuits
  • Familiar with schematic entry / layout / simulation tool flow (preferably Cadence)
  • Familiar with the use of one or more software scripting tools to support design, such as Bash, Python, PERL, Awk or SKILL
  • Right to work in the U.S. is required
  • This position requires access to technical data regulated under export controls by the U.S. Government. If an export license is required, employment may not commence until such license is received
  • Candidates who wish to be considered must be enrolled in a accredited college/university as of September 2026. Applicants who have graduated before September 2026 will not be considered unless they are starting a MS or PHD program after graduating.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high-speed designs (> 1 GHz)
  • Experience in data converter calibration and analysis in particular related to ADCs
  • Good communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • You will do designs and simulations within a circuit program supporting the analog frontend of one of our next generation ADC chips or the analog backend of one of our next generation DAC chips.
  • Design may be at the block or circuit level, and simulation may include circuit simulation, electromagnetic simulation, and/or high-level custom software simulation.
