About The Position
National Historical Media company Forever Studios seeks an Analogue Media Transfer Specialist with combined experience in analog/digital video media & electronics hardware. The ideal candidate will possess a fundamental knowledge of late 20th century physical media and a high-end enthusiast understanding of both modern media software and late 20th century playback devices such as VCRs, tape decks, and film projectors. The position primarily involves video tape capture, film capture, and similar tasks. Upon demonstrating the requisite skills, the candidate may have the opportunity to explore more complex roles involving research and development and team leadership. The video tape capture process includes the operation and maintenance of specialized analog tape capture rigs to create digital video from analog tapes, encoding video to consumer formats, and preparing deliverables for customers, such as high-speed USBs and a proprietary Amazon S3-based cloud platform. The senior role will also involve evaluating, maintaining, and improving all machines and processes. All staff members at Forever Studios are expected to work well within a team environment while displaying a high level of personal accountability and comprehension of organizational goals. Candidates must be prepared to spend a significant portion of their day on their feet and possess high proficiency with computer hardware and software, with certifications being a bonus. Strong troubleshooting skills are essential, as is the ability to achieve desired outcomes without direct supervision and to take initiative. A working knowledge of analog audio/video formats is required, along with dependability, organization, and reliability. Candidates must also have their own reliable transportation, live within 30 minutes of Boca Raton, and be authorized to work a 40-hour/week shift. This position favors individuals who are detail-oriented and capable of improvisation when necessary, as the workflow is completed individually but is part of a larger production process that relies on team output.
