Job Summary: The Analog Engineer III is a n experienced contributor who works highly independently and uses established procedures to perform assigned tasks by working cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers and Customers. Provide engineering design and analysis services for DC/DC power converters and filters for space and Hi-rel iability applications . R esponsibility for technical proposals, requirements management, detailed architecture of topology and control, detailed circuit design and analyses (including familiarity with part selection and design concepts associated with radiation hardened / tolerant circuitry ), p roduct performance , customer presentations, schedule, and cost requirements. Will have expert knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures of assigned product or program. May lead a team of engineers on assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Experience : 5 + years of experience with microelectronic dc-dc power conversion and control system design , including knowledge of radiation effects on components and circuits.
  • Experience with high reliability hardware design from conceptual design through product delivery
  • Experience with analog modeling tools ( I.e., Symetrix, Simplis , Ansys Maxwell, Mathcad or equivalent software
  • Knowledge : Knowledge of complex dc-dc power topolog ies and control circuitries; D iscrete analog circuit design ; D etailed knowledge of power electronics technology , including temperature compensating analog circuits , radiation tolerant components and circuitry, reference compensators, magnetic design, and plan a r magnetics
  • Skill : Excellent documentation, organization and time management skills
  • Ability to write procedures, reports, and acceptance test s.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects through complete development cycle
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in team environment and mentor others
  • E ducation/Certification : BS degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Responsibilities

  • M odel and simulate circuit or system performance of dc-dc power converters and filters using analytical tools
  • Detailed design and analysis of discrete implementation of power converter control circuitry that is resistant to performance degra dation due to radiation effects
  • Filte r modeling, analysis and design
  • System integration, test and development of DC power conversion hardware for spac eflight and Hi-Rel applications
  • In vestigate and evaluate new power topologies and control for spaceflight applications
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure that the designs meet the customers ’ electrical, environmental as well as internal manufacturing requirements and standards
  • Support inte rnal concurrent design criteria
  • F unction as the technical interface for customers and attend technical meetings as required
  • Support specification development with customer s
  • Translate market specification s into design requirements.
  • G enerate design documentation required for prototype and/or production releases as Document new designs per established guidelines including but not limited to simulations, test circuit measurements and tolerance analys e s
  • Provide appropriate input to the development of test pr ocedures, fixtures and software
  • Respond to market trends and requirements for pro duct development specifications
  • Any other task assigned by your supervisor or management
