Job Description Works with a small team including chip architect, IC digital designer, IC layout engineering, and characterization engineer to design circuit blocks for infrared focal plane arrays. Responsible for designing and analyzing analog block level circuits including noise power and variability. Documents analysis and trades as part of Iso9001 process and presents their documentation to peers and customers in design reviews. Supports lead engineer in coordinating and documenting chip level layout requirements, electrical interfaces and mechanical interfaces. Floorplans blocks and communicates layout requirements to layout engineer. Works with test and systems engineers through characterization of final products. Career path towards becoming a Senior Analog Engineer and eventually a team lead and chip architect. Must be US Citizen or PERM Resident

Requirements

  • B.S. in EE or Physics required
  • Analog design for CMOS technology
  • Schematic capture and SPICE simulation
  • Communication, collaboration and teamwork required to contribute to a small design team
  • Attention to detail required to identify risks and prevent errors
  • Written communication to document performance and design trades
  • Verbal communication and presentation skills to present designs and trades
  • MOSFET device analysis
  • Small signal analysis
  • IC floor planning
  • Analysis of layout parasitic effects
  • Testing and debugging of IC hardware
  • Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Must be US Citizen or PERM Resident

Nice To Haves

  • Cadence Virtuoso software experience
  • 2+ years of experience in IC design
  • Experience with imaging systems and electro-optical components
  • IR sensor and camera system experience
  • CMOS Analog to Digital Converters
  • CMOS PLL experience
  • CMOS High Speed I/O and data multiplexing experience
  • Coding background
  • Familiarity with Quality Systems (ISO9001)

Responsibilities

  • Perform analog design and detailed analog simulations
  • Transistor level analysis, trades, conclusions
  • Cell layout and floor planning
  • Documentation of design analysis
  • Presentation at design reviews
  • Adherence to detailed analog IC design process
  • IC device test support; provide assistance (as required) to test engineering to perform test verification
