About The Position

BAE Systems Platforms and Services has an opening for a Field Service Manager to manage the AMPV deprocessing and field support activities. The position involves managing and/or leading a field service team of over 50 people and handling highly complex projects in support of AMPV product lines. The teams are responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of vehicles to meet various program requirements and ensure compliance with customer requirements. The role requires extensive knowledge and experience with US Army maintenance standards and Technical Manuals. Responsibilities include developing estimates for future field service projects, establishing budgets, tracking performance, resolving complex technical issues, ensuring safety and health compliance, preparing reports and presentations, and maintaining familiarity with industry practices and trends.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus 12 years relevant experience; or relevant associate degree plus 10 years relevant experience; or relevant Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing, and field service positions to understand product lines and business complexities.
  • 10+ years military maintenance management experience with Ground Maneuver Platforms.

  • A Bachelor's degree in business, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead field service team of over 50 people and complex projects for AMPV product lines.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain a fleet of vehicles to meet program requirements.
  • Develop estimates for future field service projects and establish budgets.
  • Track performance against established budgets and provide accurate financial information.
  • Plan, estimate, staff, and schedule resources for field service projects.
  • Resolve complex technical issues by liaising between field service and engineering, quality, and production.
  • Develop job safety, procedural, and technical training programs for field service personnel.
  • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations on project status to customers and management.
  • Resolve field service issues impacting scheduling, cost conflicts, and contractual requirements.
  • Perform supervisory duties including hiring, training, evaluation, counseling, and discipline of employees.
  • Maintain familiarity with industry practices and advise management on new developments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety objectives and policies.
