We are hiring for a NH3 tech to help produce biscuits, hotcakes, and McGriddles at our Louisville, KY facility. You will report to the facilities manager. Ammonia Refrigeration Technician Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will maintain safe and reliable ammonia refrigeration and utility systems in a fast‑paced environment. You will complete technical repairs, monitor system performance, document key operating data, and support a strong safety culture across the plant.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Required: Two years of experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems
  • RETA CARO or CIRO certification or the willingness to obtain one within 90 days

Nice To Haves

  • Desired: Experience in utilities such as HVAC/R, controls, or electrical
  • Strong troubleshooting focus and commitment to safe work practices

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on utility equipment
  • Complete logs and documentation for boilers, compressors, temperatures, and pressures
  • Maintain refrigerant records and related compliance paperwork
  • Service, repair, and rebuild valves, pumps, and related components
  • Monitor room temperatures and adjust the hot water heater as needed
  • Respond to alarms and communicate issues to the shift team
  • Follow Safety, HACCP, GMP, Food Safety, and PSM/RMP requirements
  • Participate in the Process Safety Management Program and Safety pillar
  • Coordinate work with contractors
  • Support major and minor repairs on boilers, ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, air compressors, fire systems, and cooling towers
  • Other duties as assigned
