About The Position

This position is for an Ammonia and Refrigeration Tech II in a manufacturing setting. The role is critical for maintaining various types of equipment, including lift trucks, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, material handling equipment, and electronic/electrical systems. Key responsibilities involve diagnosing and repairing complex ammonia refrigeration system issues, operating and maintaining wastewater treatment plant machinery, and ensuring system performance and water purification. The technician will also be part of the HazMat team, perform preventive maintenance, monitor safety, and complete detailed documentation. The role requires strong teamwork, continuous improvement, and adherence to Walmart's ethical standards and values, which include respecting individuals, acting with integrity, serving customers, and striving for excellence. Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Option 1: Trade/vocational school degree or certificate in industrial maintenance or similar area.
  • Option 2: 3 years’ experience in industrial refrigeration (for example, valve rebuilds, working with refrigeration systems).
  • Option 3: 5 years’ experience with HVAC.
  • Option 4: 5 years’ experience with wastewater treatment plants.
  • Option 5: 5 years’ experience in industrial maintenance.
  • RETA Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO).
  • Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a Class I or II Waster Water Operator (State Specific) within 30 months of job entry date.

Responsibilities

  • Assists other maintenance technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment for example lift trucks pneumatic systems material handling equipment hydraulic equipment dock equipment electronic and electrical equipment according to company policies and procedures
  • Operates material handling equipment battery equipment moving machinery and other powered equipment
  • Diagnoses refrigeration and electrical problems by utilizing technical drawings for example blueprints electronic mechanical schematics and diagnostic tools for example multimeters laptops
  • Troubleshoots and repairs complex ammonia refrigeration system problems with equipment logic controls and external Input Output IO devices where the repair is not immediately visible or obvious
  • Operates refrigeration system equipment for example compressors fan units
  • Operates and maintains machinery in a wastewater treatment plant
  • Monitors system performance
  • Adjusts controls to maintain the necessary system parameters
  • Manages equipment to filter and purify water
  • Ensures the safety and compliance of plant operations
  • Runs tests identifies faults and applies corrective measures as needed
  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration system equipment by following original equipment manufacturer instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Cleans or prevents issues pertaining to hazardous materials as a member of the HazMat team
  • Monitors work areas for safety concerns according to written procedures and takes appropriate action as needed
  • Completes work orders records logs and other written or computer based documents utilizing established procedures
  • Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources information and tools determining customer needs and business priorities coordinating and executing work assignments providing advice feedback and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved and modeling and helping others with how to adapt to change or new challenges
  • Develops communicates and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers coworkers customers and other business partners analyzing and applying information from multiple sources monitoring progress and results and identifying and addressing improvement opportunities
  • Demonstrates promotes and supports compliance with company policies procedures and standards of ethics and integrity by explaining guiding and demonstrating how to apply these in executing business processes and practices implementing related action plans using the Open Door Policy and assisting management with correcting ethical and compliance issues and problems
