About The Position

The Strategic Account Manager at Ames Stores Group is responsible for achieving revenue and profitability targets with strategic accounts. This role involves building and maintaining strong partner relationships, analyzing customer needs and market trends, and coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure product availability. The position requires significant travel and the ability to cultivate new strategic accounts while presenting business updates to national accounts.

Requirements

  • Proven success achieving product placement and sales growth at major accounts such as Grainger, Fastenal, and The Home Depot.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales, profitability, and budget goals.
  • Ability to implement sales and marketing strategies effectively.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to interface and demonstrate leadership internally and externally.
  • High-energy self-starter and collaborative team player.
  • Proven ability to communicate cross-functionally within the company and with customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with additional major accounts not listed in the basic qualifications.
  • Advanced degree in business or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve assigned revenue and profitability targets with approved and targeted Strategic Accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong partner relationships.
  • Analyze customer needs and market trends to accurately forecast demand and identify potential new products and services.
  • Coordinate and plan with internal shareholders to ensure product availability and required support.
  • Research and identify potential new strategic accounts, presenting each target to the Head of Sales for approval.
  • Cultivate identified target customers in existing and new geographic markets.
  • Conduct quarterly and midyear business presentations to assigned National Accounts.
  • Resolve customer complaints.
