About The Position

Responsible for the overall sales performance of an area and local team. Area Sales Director both perform sales duties themselves and lead teams of sales people to achieve sales goals. This includes everything from setting sales goals to training and supporting teams in order to help them achieve those goals. The Area Director is responsible for a revenue and gross margin target. The targets will be a combination of his/her own objectives as well as those of the team who reports to him/her.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree preferred with 8-12 years of experience.
  • Proven management experience in sales and business development of high tech products in B2B, commercial and state/local governments.

  • Establish, maintain and expand the customer base
  • Serve the needs of existing customers
  • Allocate areas to sales representatives
  • Set sales targets for individual reps and team as a whole
  • Monitor team's performance, motivate and coach to reach targets
  • Increase business opportunities through various routes to market
  • Compile and analyze sales figures
  • Keep up to date with products and competitors
  • Recruit and train sales staff
