About The Position

Students hired in these positions tutor children (from Preschool through 9th grade) in reading and/or math. Tutors currently provide in-person and remote/virtual support. Locations include the ISU campus, local schools, after-school programs, public libraries, and community centers.

Requirements

• Applicants MUST be awarded Federal Work Study
• Ability to provide your own transportation for off-campus sites (this includes public transportation)
• Must be dependable
• Applicants must have and maintain a GPA of 2.5
• Experience working with children and/or tutoring is required
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
• Applicants must be strong or fluent Spanish speakers and/or possess the skills to tutor children in math from 4th - 9th grade

Responsibilities

• Attending mandatory/paid training sessions
• Providing program data by posting 'reflections' every two weeks based on placements
• Writing optional lesson plans, and progress reports, or creating videos
• Submitting Exit Plans if providing 1:1 support
