About The Position

The Patient Transport/Driver is responsible for providing transport of patients to and from the hospital for various tests, procedures, therapy and treatment. As approved by manager, transports a variety of medical equipment and or supplies. Transports other staff members, VP’s, etc. when request to various meetings or events. Responsible for ensuring patients/passengers arrive on time for scheduled tests, rehab, therapy, etc. Plans daily routes and patient distribution in advance to ensure that all schedules are meet. Ensures safe transportation of patients and/or passengers. Responsible for vehicle upkeep, maintenance, cleanliness, and gas records. Demonstrates a caring, sensitive approach to all passengers. Liaison with other Health Care staff as necessary.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Licensure/Certification: Must have a current valid SC Drivers License.
  • Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.
  • Must have an excellent driving record.
  • Must have a caring disposition, good social skills, tack and diplomacy.
  • Develop an intimate knowledge of regular patients.
  • Knowledgeable in the geographical areas of Charleston and the Lowcountry.
  • This position requires operation of a vehicle for Roper St. Francis Healthcare business. Due to this job requirement, the selected candidate/employee must possess a valid, current South Carolina driver's license.
  • In addition, the selected candidate/employee must be insurable under the Roper St. Francis Healthcare vehicle insurance plan, which will be verified by reviewing licensure and driving record.
