About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for its Urology-Ambulatory Nursing department. This full-time position involves supporting standards of care and providing consultation and expertise in the delivery of patient care in an outpatient setting. The role includes participation in community and professional organizations, demonstrating commitment to nursing's visibility and future. The Assistant Nurse Manager will collaborate with the Urology leadership team and nursing administration in the operations of an offsite Urology care facility, fostering an interdisciplinary team in all aspects of clinic workflow, high-level disinfection (HLD), and patient care. The position is accountable for daily operations in a busy hospital-based clinic and procedural area, requiring strong leadership skills and a commitment to high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
  • 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Urology, General Surgery, or comparable specialty experience, preferably in an Ambulatory care setting.
  • 1-3 years of previous experience in Nursing Management preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills and commitment to high-quality patient care.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience with staff development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert patient care and serve as a resource for the unit and service.
  • Communicate effectively within the unit and service.
