About The Position

We’re searching for an Ambulatory Services Representative II with our Outpatient Ultrasound Clinic at the Woodlands location that will support Ultrasound, MRI, X-ray, Interventional Radiology and CT teams, someone who’s ready to be part of the best ranked children’s hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will provide excellent customer service as the first contact for patients, providers and staff accessing virtual and/or non-virtual ambulatory clinics. May orient the patient to the virtual visit process to ensure patient success, if applicable. As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Required H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Required 2 years' experience in customer service or 2 years clerical, medical office, or business experience preferably in a Healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Check-In/Welcome desk duties including patient admission and registration.
  • Perform patient registration procedures per department process.
  • Orient patients to the virtual visit process and ensure technology setup for successful visits.
  • Provide and ensure completion of all necessary patient forms for clinic visits.
  • Communicate with patients, staff, and providers regarding patient arrivals, delays, and clinic processes.
  • Alert clinic staff and providers of any changes or discrepancies in patient’s scheduled appointments.
  • Refer patients with inadequate funding to the financial counselor with zero reported complaints.
  • Change status of all appointments daily to reflect arrived, cancelled, no-show, or rescheduled status.
  • Maintain an organized filing system of current referrals in progress and already appointed, and communicate missed appointments to PCP.
  • Review new referrals with provider of the day regarding appropriate appointment status and coordinate scheduling.
  • Assist licensed staff with non-financial aspects of the inpatient admission process as needed.
  • Perform closing procedures including reconciling fee receipts, completing deposit notification forms, and balancing credit card machines.
  • Handle insurance authorization, collecting cash and deposits, charge entry, billing, and reconciliation.
  • Provide customer service and communication support.
  • Manage flowmaster and room management.
