About The Position

The Ambulatory Services Nurse II is accountable for the assessment, planning, treatment, and evaluation during the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases of nursing care. This role involves assisting the physician during surgery and procedures by functioning in a circulating capacity. The nurse develops, implements, manages, and coordinates an optimal interdisciplinary plan of care, considering psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors. They are responsible for fostering and maintaining collaborative relationships with patients, their families/support groups, physicians, and other healthcare providers through effective communication. The position requires adherence to policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations to ensure a high-quality patient experience and continuous professional growth and development in nursing practice.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • RN-Registered Nurse of California
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • 2 years recent relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competence with regard to nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.
  • Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
  • Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
  • Ability to build collaborate relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
