About The Position

The position is for a full-time registered nurse at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in the Oncology: Surgery Multi Disciplinary department. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families from admission to post-discharge. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, and collaborating with the care team to influence care outcomes. The nurse will uphold and promote a culture of safety, continuously evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, and take action as needed. The role also requires administering medications, treatments, and therapies safely according to clinical protocols and procedures, demonstrating effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, and pursuing professional development.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
