About The Position

The Ambulatory RN 2 at Rush University Medical Center's Wound Care Center is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients. This role involves identifying patient responses, implementing evidence-based interventions, and collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The RN will establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families, coordinate care, and participate in quality initiatives while adhering to Rush's mission and values.

Requirements

  • Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Three years' nursing experience.
  • Earned Nursing Degree at the Baccalaureate level or higher for those hired after January 1, 2014.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Analytical ability.
  • Communication skills to lead and teach.
  • Ability to interact effectively with others in difficult situations.
  • Proficient in checking documents for errors and using a keyboard for data entry.

  • Participates in quality initiatives, research, and development of care protocols to improve patient care and outcomes.
  • Demonstrates accountability for implementing policies related to safe medication administration and medical device use.
  • Applies the teaching-learning process to meet the learning needs of patients and families.
  • Assesses patient safety needs and implements strategies to minimize risk during clinical encounters.
  • Recognizes changes in patient status and responds effectively to optimize outcomes.
  • Utilizes competent assessment skills to evaluate the physical and psychosocial needs of patients and families.
  • Establishes regular communication patterns to facilitate the transition of care for patients and families.
  • Supports clinic goals and participates in nursing shared governance.
