About The Position

As a full-time Polysomnographic Technologist, you will bring your experience and passion for health care to our Respiratory Team at Banner's Sleep Medicine Clinic! Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
  • Requires Registry by the Board of Polysomnographic Technologists or proof of having passed the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • 3 years of experience in all aspects of sleep disorders testing.
  • Proficient in the use and theory of all equipment related to sleep testing.
  • Thorough knowledge of the sleep/wake cycle and its pathologies, as well as EEG theory appropriate to sleep monitoring and cardiopulmonary physiology during sleep.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.

  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Independently performs prescribed diagnostic sleep monitoring studies, which may include home sleep tests, to patients.
  • Analyzes all types of sleep records of patients, identifies and documents sleep stages and quantifies physiologic processes during data acquisition.
  • Ensures an accurate and readable recording using deductive reasoning to troubleshoot minor problems and make adjustments as needed during the testing process.
  • Collects and/or reviews pertinent medical, historical, and medication information to perform the appropriate study prescribed by the physician.
  • Assists with the development of department policies, procedures and processes, facilitates testing and maintains quality to achieve optimal patient results.
  • Assists leadership with operations, scheduling, orientation and/or training of new technical staff.
  • Ensures quality assurance standards as outlined by departmental policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory agencies.

Benefits

  • Estimated Pay Range: $26.82 - $40.22 / hour, based on location, education, & experience.
