About The Position

The position is for a part-time paramedic at the WFBMG University Group Practice in Greensboro New Garden, focusing on immediate care. The role involves providing patient/family centered care, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, and collaborating with the healthcare team to establish treatment goals. The paramedic will be responsible for rapid evaluation of life-threatening emergencies, documentation of care in the Electronic Medical Record, and facilitating optimal patient flow through the Emergency Department.

Requirements

• Paramedic certification from an accredited certified paramedic program, or an Associate's of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in paramedic studies or equivalent.
• Three years of Emergency Service experience preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• Applicable state-OEMS certification as EMT-P required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required within one year in select areas.
• Critical care certificate or national registry paramedic preferred.

• Ability to evaluate and appropriately respond to verbal and nonverbal communication from patients in diverse stages of development.

• Documents any medication and treatment rendered in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Provides and documents patient re-assessment in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Demonstrates high-level teamwork with other members of the Emergency Department Care team.
• Supports an environment of evidence-based practice/research/quality improvement initiatives.
• Facilitates Optimal Patient flow through the Emergency Department.
