About The Position

The Nurse Supervisor Ambulatory supervises the day-to-day clinical operation of designated work unit(s) providing guidance and support to the clinical and support staff to ensure that quality patient or client focused care is delivered. When appropriate, the Nurse Supervisor Ambulatory provides professional patient care utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with the patient, families and interdisciplinary healthcare team to meet educational and discharge needs. This individual may assist in high-risk procedures, surgery and/or provide patient education in specific units. The Nurse Supervisor Ambulatory assures that appropriate care is delivered. In addition, the individual supports leadership through activities that include hiring and development of staff, teaching, community involvement, participation in committees and research (as applicable). The individual may also have clinical responsibilities (i.e., patient assignments) in some smaller work units. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing degree program, masters preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing practice or progressive leadership experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and interpersonal effectiveness required.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, problem solving, and computer skills required.
  • Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
  • Arizona and Florida - Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
  • Midwest - Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
