About The Position

The Ambulatory Nurse Manager is a registered nurse who will have the leadership responsibility for the day-to-day oversight of a multi-specialty pediatric outpatient clinic focusing on care for medically complex and developmentally disabled patients and their families. Responsibilities will include overseeing a team of clinical staff comprising of nurses, medical assistants, and others ensuring safe and quality based patient care delivery by monitoring staff performance, managing patient assignments, ensuring best practice clinical standards, and promoting staff development while adhering to regulatory compliance; serving as a key liaison between clinic staff and both clinic and hospital management to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the clinic. Oversees clinical operations by monitoring patient flow, reviewing documentation, observing staff practices, and providing direct care in complex situations. Supervises clinic staff through onboarding, training, competency assessments, real-time coaching, and resolution of team or patient care concerns. Leads operational planning, including staff scheduling, coordination with providers, and the development of clinical guidelines and quality improvement initiatives. Ensures quality assurance by conducting chart reviews, supporting skill development events, tracking quality metrics, and analyzing trends for performance improvement. Maintains compliance by staying current with regulations, leading staff education efforts, and ensuring licensure and certification requirements are met. Participates in incident reporting, root cause analysis, and workflow updates to support safety and adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • BSN required.
  • BLS, PALS, Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois.
  • CPR required. Only certifications issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross will be accepted.

  • Pediatric nursing leadership experience preferred.
