About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a full-time GI nurse for a fast-paced, growing outpatient endoscopy center. The position involves caring for procedure patients throughout all phases of care including pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and recovery. The nurse will be accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards and will contribute to unit activities to enhance the care delivery system. The role may include responsibilities such as charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member. The ideal candidate will have excellent IV and assessment skills, moderate sedation competency, and the ability to organize and prioritize care.

Requirements

• Must have 3 years nursing experience.
• Must possess a New York State nursing license.
• Excellent IV and assessment skills.
• Moderate sedation competency.
• Ability to organize and prioritize care.

Nice To Haves

• GI experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent direct patient care based on established standards.
• Contribute to unit activities and support enhancement of the care delivery system.
• Support peers in the delivery of patient care services.
• Assume expanded roles including charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
