The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is seeking an experienced, motivated Nurse Manager to join its leadership team. This role provides operational and clinical oversight for outpatient GI clinics located at 180 Sawgrass Drive and within the Strong Memorial Hospital Ambulatory Tower. The Nurse Manager is responsible for mentoring and developing the Assistant Nurse Manager, supervising clinical nurses and technical staff, managing staffing and daily operations, and supporting high-quality, patient-centered care. Key responsibilities include problem-solving, maintaining standards of nursing practice, ensuring regulatory and policy compliance, and modeling exemplary customer service. The Nurse Manager will promote efficient systems that support patient safety, satisfaction, and clinic throughput, while fostering strong interdisciplinary collaboration through effective communication and interpersonal skills. Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of nursing experience and two years of leadership experience are required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
  • Master’s degree preferred (required within 5 years)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior outpatient clinic management experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains 24 hour-a-day accountability for all patient care and nursing activities on assigned outpatient unit.
  • Oversees and directs unit activities including standards development, human resource management, assessment of resource needs and utilization, staff development and communication within nursing practice as well as among other disciplines and departments.
  • Oversees all performance improvement activities at the unit level and participates in committees at all levels within the institution.
  • Provides operational and clinical oversight for outpatient GI clinics located at 180 Sawgrass Drive and within the Strong Memorial Hospital Ambulatory Tower.
