Surgery experience is a plus. Responsibilities

  • In an outpatient setting, remains accountable for provision of direct care to assigned patients.
  • Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system.
  • Works as a team member and assists other staff members with implementing patient care.
  • Assumes responsibility of care for assigned patients under the direction of the co-assigned RN or MD.
  • Participates in the plan of care, implements appropriate nursing interventions, and contributes to patient/family education through collection of data, interdisciplinary team collaboration, documentation and excellent communication.
  • Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and documenting within the electronic medical record.
  • Additional duties involve patient preparation for surgical interventions, administration of local anesthesia, wound care, pressure dressings, biopsies, excisions, assisting with injections, and supporting laser procedures.
  • The LPN will also assist with topical numbing prior to procedures, eRecord in-basket management, team documentation, and billing workflows.
  • Patient education and collaborative support of physician documentation across multiple dermatologic disciplines (general dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, and surgical dermatology) are essential components of this role.
