About The Position

Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services, in partnership with Indian Health Services (IHS), is seeking experienced Ambulatory Care Registered Nurses (RNs) for a long-term contract at Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock. We are currently hiring Contract RNs for the Ambulatory Care Department, with start dates in June or July. This is an excellent opportunity to earn competitive pay, receive full benefits, and make a meaningful impact serving an underserved community. The contract length is up to 1 year with additional extension options. The role is fully onsite at Shiprock, NM, and the clinic serves patients of all ages. The credentialing process may take up to 90 days. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed, and candidates should be adaptable and willing to support evolving clinical needs. Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services follows an Indian Preference Policy, giving preference to qualified Native American candidates.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (any U.S. state accepted)
• Minimum 2-3 years of RN experience
• Current BLS certification
• Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience with EHR systems required
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must be able to pass a federal security clearance
• Required immunizations must be up to date

Nice To Haves

• Ambulatory or outpatient experience preferred
• ACLS preferred
• Previous IHS experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an outpatient/ambulatory care setting
• Perform patient assessments, triage, and care coordination
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and preventive care
• Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care
