  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • Less than 1 year Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Provides information, records, schedules, and prepares services for use by other departments.
  • Responsible for interviewing outpatients, completing forms, pre-authorizations from insurance/medicaid for scheduled procedures, maintaining patient charts, transcribing physician orders on forms according to established policies and completion of requisitions for outpatient procedures.
  • Coordinating clinic lab, x-rays, and procedures ie. spiroscans, stress tests, and specialty clinic referrals.
  • Responsible for speciality clinic appointments including scheduling and communicating specific patient instructions for appointment.
  • Coordinates surgical instructions to patients with RN.
  • Assists providers with outpatient procedures i.e. knee injections, excisional biopsies, telemedicine, and taking vital signs for some outreach clinics prior to provider seeing patient.
  • Assists in managing the department budget.
  • Insuring productivity on all shifts, overtime is not accumulated unless proper authorization is obtained, breaks are taken, and cross-training is maximized.
  • Participates in the inventory control program, maintaining costs to a minimum and lost charges..
  • Involved in the facility IOP and quality processes to insure quality care is provided.
  • Developing a teamwork relationship with all customers and suppliers.
