About The Position

The Ambulatory Care Assistant (ACA) is responsible for maintaining a highly professional environment, ensuring a collaborative relationship with patients, physicians, referring physicians, non-licensed and licensed staff in the Clinic. The ACA assists with non-clinical tasks required to ensure smooth patient access and flow including scheduling patients for follow up office visits, imaging and lab work, preparation of appropriate chart elements, and escorting patient to room and collecting vital signs and patient information. May perform blood draw with phlebotomy certification. Assists physician with tasks such as removing bandages, collection of samples not requiring sterile procedures, and other non-sterile tasks. Stocks and organizes exam rooms and assists with storage of medical supplies. This position also handles the pre-authorization process and acts as a liaison between the providers and patient. The ACA works collaboratively with clinical staff to ensure all proper records are received and all appropriate testing is completed prior to appointment/surgery date. The ACA provides updates to the clinic staff and patients on timing ensuring patient flow. Performs other duties as assigned. Travels to different worksites if there is a department need. Must work in Specialty Clinics: Follows clinic guidelines for handling instruments and equipment utilized in clinic procedures.
