About The Position

The Paramedic performs a wide variety of patient care activities related to patients being treated and transported to the hospital by ambulance. The EMT-Paramedic also performs the responsibilities of driving emergency vehicles providing due regard for the safety of others while operating the ambulance. The EMT-Paramedic performs patient care activities when attending to the patient in the patient compartment of the ambulance. The EMT-Paramedic performs Life Support procedures within their scope of practice as approved by the Alabama Department of Public Health EMS Division.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Emergency Medical Services.
• Current license from the Alabama State Department of Public Health as an EMT-Paramedic /Driver.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care activities related to patients being treated and transported to the hospital by ambulance.
• Drive emergency vehicles while ensuring the safety of others.
• Attend to patients in the patient compartment of the ambulance.
• Perform Life Support procedures as approved by the Alabama Department of Public Health EMS Division.
