About The Position

Position Overview: Palo Alto County Health System (PACHS) is seeking a dedicated PRN Ambulance Driver to assist EMTs with providing out-of-hospital care appropriate to the age of each patient per protocols established by the medical director. This role involves driving the ambulance safely, assisting with emergency and non-emergency calls, and ensuring a high level of patient safety and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED (unless currently a high school student).
  • Healthcare provider CPR certification.
  • Valid Iowa Driver's License with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the ambulance safely and prudently.
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
  • Investigate and resolve customer concerns.
  • Participate in quality improvement processes.
  • Complete patient and service documentation timely.
  • Restock, clean, and disinfect equipment.
  • Stay in designated area when on call.
  • Facilitate collaborative relationships between departments.
  • Attend mandatory department meetings.
  • Follow patient care and hospital policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding patients, employees, and hospital information.
