JOB TYPE Classification: Nonexempt Supervises Positions: No JOB SUMMARY Performs and or assists in transporting of patients of all ages from UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper to other health care facilities, nursing care facilities or residence with qualified personnel as mandated by the patient's condition. The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• 1 year of related work experience preferred.
• Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
• EMT-Basic
• Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC)
• Valid Driver's License - must produce acceptable DMV driving record.
• AHA BLS
• Must remain calm and organized in emergent situations.
• Must be available for rotating shifts as required.
• Must have keen sense of responsibility, ability to make decisions, and work independently.
• Must have good judgment.
• Must have basic computer knowledge.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to interact effectively with the public.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• For any weight over 35 lbs. use Safe Handling Equipment.
• May require the use of safety equipment, such as HEPA mask, for infection prevention
• On call responsibilities as directed
• Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed
