About The Position

The Ambient Assistant Analyst provides hands-on support for the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of AI-powered documentation solutions across the health system. Responsibilities include assisting with system troubleshooting, user training, workflow adaptation, and technical issue resolution. The role involves collaborating with clinical staff, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure AI assistants function effectively and meet provider needs. Additionally, the Analyst collects and organizes user feedback, supporting continuous improvement efforts to enhance adoption and system usability. The Ambient Assistant Analyst plays a critical role in the implementation, support, and optimization of AI-powered ambient documentation tools across multiple clinical settings. This position applies clinical applications knowledge and technical expertise to assist in deploying, troubleshooting, and refining AI scribe solutions, ensuring seamless integration into clinical workflows. Working closely with healthcare providers, IT specialists, and operational teams, the Analyst gathers user feedback, identifies workflow challenges, and supports system enhancements that improve efficiency and provider satisfaction. The role requires a strong foundation in technology deployment, problem-solving abilities, and a customer service mindset to assist in the growth and success of the Ambient Listening Program. This position is classified as Flexible for onsite work requirements. This role allows partial or full days of remote work. Job duties require routine physical presence at a UCSF or network/affiliate location, for specific categories of activities. Onsite presence is expected to be multiple days per week but certain activities may require employee to be in the office for more extended periods. Onsite location may vary within the Bay Area as this position supports multiple network and affiliate locations. Onsite activities may include, but are not limited to, collaboration meetings, customer meetings, team-building events, go-live readiness activities and support, 1:1 meetings, and team meetings. Employee will be responsible for commuting expenses. Expenses to travel to a non-UCSF location may be reimbursable to the extent that they exceed the employee's standard commute and follow UCSF policy. Standard hours are M-F 8-5 PST, but business need may require work during the evenings, weekends, and onsite at various locations up to 5 days per week during go-lives or critical transitions. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $81,200 - $131,100 (Annual Rate). Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and / or equivalent combination of experience / training.
  • 1 year relevant work experience
  • Working knowledge of clinical applications systems and functions, including development, implementation, user support, maintenance, and system testing and evaluation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and address technical or workflow challenges.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage productively with clinicians, IT staff, and operational stakeholders.
  • Detail oriented, with demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, set schedules, and complete projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communications, with the ability to convey technical information to clinical users in a clear and concise manner.
  • Working knowledge of departmental systems and procedures for documentation and reporting, with the ability to perform tests, and to analyze, and interpret relevant data.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to analyze data trends, compile reports, and support decision-making for program improvements.
  • Experience supporting health IT deployments, including EHR integrations (Epic preferred) and AI-based technologies.
