About The Position

Ambassadors for the J Club will actively support community values, visions, and philosophies, demonstrating a style of support and organization that ensures residents' needs are met with high satisfaction. They will provide a warm, welcoming, professional approach, utilizing their experience, skills, and exceptional communication abilities with all Jasper stakeholders. Ambassadors will monitor the use of private resident facilities, adjacent grounds, and J Club activities during specified times. They are responsible for setting the tone for customer service, hospitality, and stakeholder interactions, modeling qualities of neighborliness and inclusion. As an integral member of the Jasper Community Life team, Ambassadors will contribute to the success of events, programs, and other resident engagement experiences, all designed to foster a sense of community and lifestyle unique to Jasper. The role serves as a “first responder” and “gate keeper” for amenities and the team, providing quick and accurate assistance. Ambassadors promote and inform residents of current and upcoming clubs, classes, programs, and events, assisting with registration. They handle customer service needs with a friendly yet assertive demeanor, ensuring compliance with community standards and facility guidelines, and are capable of managing escalated situations. Responsibilities also include checking in fitness class clients, operating a point of sale, showcasing amenities to visitors through tours, and regularly monitoring interior and exterior spaces, especially the pool during high-traffic seasons. They assist with events, programs, and administrative functions such as updating bulletin boards, event calendars, data entry, inventory, and reporting. Ambassadors act as the primary contact for groups utilizing amenities for functions, explaining rules, ensuring proper setup, assisting with cleanup, and inspecting areas post-event. Daily cleaning tasks, including sanitizing fitness equipment, cleaning bathrooms, and tidying amenity areas and furniture, are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Education or experience in customer service, recreation programming, recreation facilities oversight or similar background

Responsibilities

  • Serve as “first responder” and “gate keeper” for the amenities and team, answering questions, providing assistance and responding to needs quickly and accurately.
  • In a community engaging fashion, promote and inform residents of current and upcoming clubs, classes, programs, events; assist with registration as appropriate.
  • Handle customer service needs with a friendly and caring – yet assertive – demeanor, following community standards and facility guidelines; must be comfortable approaching residents who may not be following policies; capable of handling escalated situations.
  • Check in fitness class clients; operate a point of sale while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Showcase amenities and programs to visitors through tours.
  • Monitor interior and exterior spaces, including facility grounds, pool and adjacent areas, regularly throughout the day with a specific focus on the pool during (high traffic) season.
  • Assist with events, programs and activities as requested.
  • Assist with administrative functions, including but not limited to updating community bulletin boards; event calendars; hard copy materials; displays; data entry and database systems; inventory and ordering; printing reports, etc.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for individuals and groups renting or otherwise utilizing amenities for specific functions. Explain rules; provide information; ensure area is properly set for the event; assist with clean-up as necessary; inspect area post event to ensure renter’s compliance with policy.
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks; clean bathrooms; sanitize fitness equipment; wipe down windows; dust and sanitize counters; tidy exterior amenity areas as necessary.
  • Tidy and reset amenity furniture as needed throughout the day to maintain a clean and neat appearance.
