About The Position
As an Amazon Sortation Center Warehouse Associate, you will play a crucial role in the logistics chain, ensuring that customer orders are prepared for delivery efficiently and accurately. This position is physically demanding and takes place in a fast-paced sortation center environment. Your primary responsibilities will include sorting, scanning, and stacking packages on pallets, which are essential tasks in getting customer orders ready for dispatch. The role offers flexibility in scheduling, allowing you to choose shifts that best fit your lifestyle, whether part-time or full-time, and adjust your schedule as needed in the future. In this role, you will be expected to receive and sort inventory, ensuring that packages are organized and ready for delivery. You will utilize technology such as scanners, computers, and handheld printers to assist in these tasks. Physical capabilities are essential, as you will need to lift packages weighing up to 49 pounds and perform various physical activities, including standing, walking, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching during your shifts. Additionally, you may be required to use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other equipment to move items around the warehouse, and you might need to navigate stairs and work at heights of up to 40 feet on a mezzanine in certain areas. The work environment at an Amazon Sortation Center is dynamic and requires adherence to safety protocols. You will be surrounded by moving machinery, including order pickers and forklifts, and will need to be aware of your surroundings at all times. The temperature in the warehouse can vary significantly, and while climate controls are in place, you may experience temperatures ranging from 60°F to over 90°F in certain areas. Noise levels can also be high, and Amazon provides hearing protection if necessary.
