The Data Scientist Co-op position at Amazon Robotics is a full-time internship designed for students currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program. This role focuses on applying data science techniques to enhance robotic operations and improve customer experiences through automation. Interns will work on various projects that involve data extraction, analysis, and statistical modeling, contributing to the development of innovative solutions in robotics.

  • Participate in data extraction, analysis, and statistical modeling to support robotic operations.
  • Collaborate with team members to solve real-world challenges using data science techniques.
  • Communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute to the development of new processes and improvements in robotic technology.
  • Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Operations Research, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • At least 1 year of relevant academic research or industry experience in Machine Learning, Applied Statistics, Computer Vision, Optimization, or related fields.
  • At least 1 year of experience working as a data scientist or in a similar role involving data extraction, analysis, and statistical modeling.
  • At least 1 year of experience using data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab).
  • Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity and delivering results in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding of data engineering and business intelligence.
  • Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) and working with large language models.
  • Experience with causal inference modeling and A/B testing.
  • Hands-on experience in a cutting-edge robotics environment.
