About The Position

The Los Angeles Dodgers currently have a job opportunity for a Amateur Scouting Fellow . Following you will find a brief description of the job and application process. The Amateur Scouting Department is responsible for collecting information and evaluating players who are eligible for the annual Rule 5 Amateur Player Draft. We are comprised of a robust, remote scouting department who watches potential professional players on a daily basis, along with an office staff who are constantly monitoring player data and information to assist in the evaluation and selection of future Dodgers every year. The Fellow will be responsible for editing player video from our scouting field staff and uploading that video into our internal database to assist in the Amateur Department's player evaluation efforts. This program consists of 80% in-department work, 15% cross-functional project experience, and 5% additional programming. Fellows collaborate on real business projects in small cross-functional groups while gaining hands-on, department-specific experience under a dedicated manager. Requirements

  • Strong passion and understanding for the amateur baseball landscape
  • Great attention to detail, strong communication skills, and general passion for amateur players in the Draft for the utmost success
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to create advanced statistical models with a broad range of methodologies and tools, such as exploratory data manipulation and analysis, regression analysis, forecasting models, simulation, probability models, and optimization; proficiency in financial and statistical modeling
  • Excellent reasoning, problem-solving, creative thinking, and communication skills to deliver concise and thorough business solutions
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills to successfully manage projects from inception to execution and deliver high-quality outputs
  • Current student with a graduation date of December 2025/January 2026 OR within one year post graduation
  • Graduated from undergrad or graduate school, with no more than a 2-year gap between undergraduate graduation and the start of graduate school
  • Must be available to live and work in Los Angeles or your assigned office location throughout the duration of your 5-month program from March to August 2026
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
  • Passionate about working for a professional sports team
  • Proactive and out of the box thinking

Nice To Haves

  • Previous exposure to video editing software is a plus/preference
  • Proven understanding in SQL, Tableau, Salesforce, and statistical language such as R and Python is preferred
