About The Position

Cypress Street is seeking experienced AM Bartender(s)! Cypress Street Pint & Plate is located in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. It is a throwback to when the drinks were always cold, the food was always hot, and the bar staff knew your name. With seventeen beers on tap, forty bottled selections, and a fully stocked selection of wine and spirits, Cypress has become a local favorite neighborhood haunt. The ideal candidate is someone who is a hard worker, a self-starter, maintains a strong work ethic, and possesses the intangibles we are looking for - helpful, kind, fun to be around, and guest-obsessed. Having a great knowledge of beer, liquor, wine, and cocktails is necessary. A minimum of 3 years of high-volume bartending experience is preferred, with experience in TOAST POS. Shift Availability: Monday - Thursday 10 am - 5 pm Rate of Pay: $2.13 an hour plus tips!

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, preparing them efficiently, and building a rapport with clientele
  • First-time guest procedures followed
  • Promptly address guests’ issues and refer to management when necessary.
  • Ability to operate the POS system with accuracy.
  • Follow all store cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Handle card and cash transactions, ensuring that all funds in the cash drawer are accounted for by the end of the shift
  • Identify belligerent customers and work with management when needed to maintain a safe environment
  • Clean the bar and the surrounding area of spills and other messes as needed
  • Following daily checklists (opening/closing/mid) and cleaning lists.
  • Take part in bar cleaning programs.
  • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies - Alcohol Awareness - Verification of age/ID.
  • Keep an eye on patron intoxication levels and respond appropriately
  • Prepare bar areas for drinking/dining by setting decor, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils, per restaurant standards.
  • Ensure that bars are stocked with glasses, garnishes, drink mixes, and ice.
  • Product order placement - when orders arrive from vendors, they will be put up in a timely manner following store rotation procedures and display processes.
  • Alert management prior to product running out - low levels. Nothing 86’d.
  • Stay updated on current trends, house specialties, and the menu.
  • Maintain bar/table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
  • Properly open and pour wine/beer/spirits.
  • Will take part in pour tests and cocktails/menu testing.
  • Conclude dining/drinking experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting patrons to return.
  • Market yourself and your shift. Build your business.
  • May handle to-go order(s) for guests.
  • Convey menu information over the phone to guests and give an accurate estimate of delivery time
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently - Dress code followed.
  • May be required to lift materials weighing anywhere from 10-50 pounds alone and 100 pounds or more with help.
